BIO
Adam Fisher is a musician/composer/organizer based in Croton On Hudson, NY.
He began musical studies while in high-school during the 1970’s in NYC. Alternating between classical flute studies and free-jazz encounters with teacher Keshevan Maslak , Adam embarked on a synthesis of contemporary modern music and avant-garde jazz styles. Adam went to Bennington College to study with Bill Dixon where he immersed himself in the Black Music Division. He played in Bill Dixon’s ensemble while learning from Arthur Brooks, Milford Graves and his saxophone teacher Steve Horenstein. Composition and orchestration studies with Henry Brant and Vivian Fine resulted in a unique sound and blend of composed and improvised music. Returning to NYC, Adam studied saxophone with George Barrow.
In addition to leading two avant-garde quartets of his own, Adam has been an organizer of new music projects in the Croton On Hudson area where he has initiated several music events.
